Sheri L. Clarke, PhD

Dr. Sheri L. Clarke has 20 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) and medical school clerkship oversight. She has been a Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for a health care system, Associate Director/ Director of Medical Education for community teaching hospitals, and Chairperson of Graduate Medical Education Committees. She is the CEO and Senior Consultant for MedEd Associates, Inc.  

With a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Michigan State University, Dr. Clarke spent over a decade in a clinical genetics laboratory, where she was a certified Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics. She has a Master of Public Administration/Health Care Administration emphasis from Western Michigan University and a Doctorate from the Eastern Michigan University College of Technology (Simulation and Education). Dr. Clarke’s career in education began with classroom instruction and personal tutoring of medical students in genetics, before she transitioned to medical education administration at the program, hospital, and the institutional levels.

Dr. Clarke serves as a Region Representative on the Board of Directors for the Association of Hospital Medical Educators (AHME). She has served on the Board of Directors for two educational consortia and was a long-time active member of a third consortium. Dr. Clarke was recruited to participate in the development of Training Administrator of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification in 2003-2005, with the ACGME General Surgery Specialty. She led a task force in the creation of certification for central GME staff (2009-2012) and served on multiple TAGME committees, including the Board of Directors from 2002 to 2017. In addition, she is a past President and Treasurer of the Michigan Association for Medical Education.

Dr. Clarke is an Adjunct Faculty, for the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. She is actively working on her own research areas of interest (simulation, assessment, and GME administration) with over 25 oral and poster presentations at regional and national conferences in the past 15 years. She has won awards for her national presentations at both ACGME and AHME conferences. She serves as a judge for both oral and poster presentations at regional and state resident research forums.

Scott Clarke, BA, CMA

Scott Clarke has 20 years of experience in accounting and financial management.. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) with experience in several industries including entertainment, healthcare, retail pharmacy, and automotive supply.
